AMEX Bonvoy Brilliant
200,000 Bonvoy Points
est. $2,200 value · Marriott Bonvoy @ 0.8¢
Spend $6,000 in 180d $650/yr fee Exp Dec 31
Travel Points Marriott Bonvoy
200,000 points after $6,000 in the first 6 months. The $650 sticker price isn't the real number — $300 back in restaurant credits ($25/mo, easy to use) brings it to $350 net in year one, and you're getting 200k points on top of that. Year two and beyond is where it gets interesting: the annual 85,000-point free night certificate alone is worth $400-600 at a decent Marriott property, plus the $300 restaurant credit runs again, so the card is effectively paying you to hold it. Platinum Elite status is included, which gets you suite upgrades, lounge access, and late checkout at Marriott properties worldwide. Worth it if you stay at Marriotts even a few times a year — the FNC alone justifies the fee.

AMEX Delta Platinum Skymiles
90,000 SkyMiles
est. $1,035 value · Delta SkyMiles @ 1.2¢
Spend $3,000 in 180d $350/yr fee Exp Dec 31
Travel Miles Delta SkyMiles
90,000 miles after $3,000 in the first 6 months. At face value that's a $350/yr card, but the credits flip the math — $150 toward Delta Stays, $120 in Resy credits ($10/mo), and $120 in Uber Cash ($10/mo) gets you $390 back in value annually if you use them, which puts you ahead of the fee before you've flown once. First year is even better since the Delta Stays credit stacks on top of the welcome bonus spend. Companion certificate each year is the other piece — one round-trip domestic coach ticket for just taxes and fees, which alone can be worth several hundred dollars depending on the route. First checked bag free for you and up to 8 companions on the same reservation. Worth it if you fly Delta even occasionally.

Capital One Venture Rewards
75,000 Miles
est. $750 value · Capital One @ 1.8¢
Spend $4,000 in 90d $95/yr fee Exp Dec 31
Travel Miles Capital One
Solid transferable miles bonus for a $95 fee. Capital One's transfer partners have improved a lot — Avianca, Turkish, Air France/KLM are all there. The $120 Global Entry/TSA PreCheck credit offsets the first year's fee almost entirely. Same 48-month restriction shared with Venture X.

Capital One Venture X
75,000 Miles
est. $750 value · Capital One @ 1.8¢
Spend $4,000 in 90d $395/yr fee Exp Dec 31
Travel Miles Capital One
The math works if you actually travel. The $300 annual travel credit and 10,000 anniversary miles bring the effective cost down to about $95 — same as the regular Venture but with lounge access and a better earning structure on top. The 48-month clock runs shared with the Venture, so if you've gotten either bonus recently you're locked out.

Chase Freedom Unlimited
$250/25,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards
est. $250 value · Chase UR @ 2.0¢
Spend $500 in 90d No annual fee Exp Dec 31
Cash Back Points Chase UR
Better bonus than the Flex right now and an easier card to hold long-term — 1.5% on everything with no rotating categories to remember. The 3% on dining and drugstores is genuinely useful. If you have a Sapphire card, these points convert to transferable UR, which changes the math entirely. 24-month restriction from last bonus.

Chase Freedom Flex
$200/20,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards
est. $200 value · Chase UR @ 2.0¢
Spend $500 No annual fee Exp Dec 31
Cash Back Points Chase UR
Lower bonus than the Unlimited right now, but the 5% rotating categories are where it earns its keep — grocery stores, gas, Amazon, PayPal have all been in the rotation. Requires quarterly activation, which is a small ask for the upside. Same deal — pair with a Sapphire and the cash back becomes transferable points.

AMEX Blue Cash Everyday
$200
est. $200 value
Spend $2,000 in 180d No annual fee Exp Dec 31
Cash Back
No annual fee, 3% back at U.S. supermarkets, gas stations, and online retail — the three categories most people actually spend in. Spend $2,000 in the first 6 months and get $200 back. The grocery and gas rates are capped at $6,000/year each before dropping to 1%, which is plenty of room for most people. Good card to keep long-term even after the bonus.
